No problem! Madison Music Foundry has houly rehearsal spaces we can rent for the sessions. I also have a space available to use in Mount Horeb if needed.
We can do sessions the old fashioned way, get right into it with modern technology, or any combination you want.
What do you mean the old fashioned way? Good ole microphones for everything. Acoustic drums; mic'ed up! Amplifiers; mic'ed up! Didgeridoo; mic'ed up! This method is tried and true, but setup takes a bit of time to make sure everything sounds they way you want it to. And once you've committed to those sounds, mixing can only do so much, so that's pretty much what you get! There's absolutely nothing wrong with that, but if you do happen to change your mind mid session on something, you may need to do it all again.
What do you mean "get right into it with modern technology?
Well, just that. Digital has come a long way, virtually eliminating the need to mic anything up. Amp modelers and drum samples sound amazing these days. Even audiophiles are starting hear the difference less and less as the technology improves. So what does that mean? Essentially, you can walk in, plug in your guitar, sit behind an eKit, dial in some quick sounds, and get to work almost instantly. Don't quite like the tone on the guitar? No problem, tweak it later. Want to change the snare for that one song/part? No worries, just load a different sample. The possibilities are limited only by your imagination.
